When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are ~ Donald Miller

Do you find yourself dreaming about improving your relationship with your significant other?

Here are ten steps to improving your relationship you can try today.

  1. Communicate openly and honestly: Good communication is the foundation of a strong and healthy relationship. Make sure to listen actively to your partner and express yourself clearly.
  2. Show appreciation: Take the time to acknowledge and appreciate the things your partner does for you and your relationship. This could be through small gestures like a hug or a compliment, or more grand gestures like a surprise date night.
  3. Spend quality time together: Make time for each other regularly, whether it’s a weekly date night or simply sitting down for dinner together every evening.
  4. Be supportive: Be there for each other during both the good times and the challenging ones. Offer support, encouragement, and a shoulder to lean on.
  5. Work through conflicts: Conflicts are an inevitable part of any relationship, but it’s how you handle them that makes a difference. Try to approach conflicts with a problem-solving attitude, and seek a solution that works for both of you.
  6. Be respectful: Treat your partner with respect and dignity, even during disagreements. Avoid being critical or attacking, and instead focus on finding a solution together.
  7. Keep the romance alive: Romance doesn’t have to fade just because you’re married. Surprise your partner with romantic gestures, like a special dinner or a surprise weekend getaway.
  8. Prioritize intimacy: Intimacy is an important aspect of a healthy and happy marriage. Make sure to prioritize this in your relationship, whether that means having more sex or simply cuddling together more often.
  9. Grow together: Encourage each other to pursue individual interests and passions, and support each other in personal growth. This can help keep your relationship fresh and exciting.
  10. Make your relationship a priority: Make your marriage a priority in your life. This means putting in effort and making time for each other, even when other things are demanding your attention.
